One collective, two stories.
The West Coast Baseball Collective grows the game across the West Coast, and the Abbotsford Cardinals grow the players and shape the people inside it. Here is what that means, and the people who carry the standard.
01 Why the Collective exists
The best players are grown.
A hundred years ago the St. Louis Cardinals stopped leaving player development to luck. They built the first farm system, so a young ballplayer got the same coaching and the same standards wherever he went, and it changed the game.
The West Coast Baseball Collective is a new player development organization founded here in British Columbia, with the Abbotsford Cardinals at the centre of it. It brings together elite coaching, strength and mental performance, individualized year-round training and high-level competition. Cardinals players get full access to all of it, and the Cardinals continue exactly as before in the BCPBL. Nothing changes there. What is new is everything around them.
The Collective gets about five years with a player, and it is the five decades after that matter most. Five years of growth for five decades of leadership.
Inside it are the Cardinals from Futures to Premier, West Coast Body and West Coast Mind, the facilities, and the pathway that points a player at their next level.
